Soumen studied medicine at Guy's, King's & St Thomas' Medical School, part of King's College London from 1997 to 2003 graduating with his MBBS and intercalated BSc in Neuroscience. After working as a junior doctor in the UK and Australia he moved to Brighton and completed his training as a GP in 2009 gaining his MRCGP (Membership and the Royal College of General Practitioners).
His interest in the osteopathic profession stemmed from treatment he received for his neck and upper back. From 2015 to 2017 Soumen learnt osteopathic techniques and philosophy at at the London College of Osteopathic Medicine (LCOM) a college specifically for doctors interested in osteopathy.
From 2017 to 2019 Soumen's inspiring mentor from LCOM, Mark Andrews took him on as an associate at the Kemptown Osteopath Clinic where he built up his experience. Soumen also had the privilege of working with another inspiring tutor from LCOM, Nic Straiton at Glover's Yard. Soumen finds it remarkably rewarding to see patients feeling better after a treatment or course of treatments with manual therapy and advice.
