Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)

What is BPPV?

This is a type of dizziness where one may sense the room spinning on head movements. It is disorientating and can be associated with nausea and loss of confidence.  Triggers include trauma and infection but may be unknown.  The vertigo can come on suddenly (paroxysmal) and affect the ability to carry on with daily activities.

The Epley Manouvre can be very helpful particularly if the posterior canal is affected.
